Typical System Tray

This is located by default at the bottom right of the screen.

Its contents vary with your individual setup; what we show here is:

USB indicator, Wireless networks indicator, Messenger, Battery level indicator, Volume control, Notifications, Time

The defaults are generally OK for most people.
The up-arrow at the left of the group of icons indicates that further icons can be seen by clicking it.
